At Reverse Australia we like to encourage creativity. One of our developers decided to make this really cool gadget for iGoogle in his off time while he was experimenting with uses for our API.
For those of you who don’t know, iGoogle is Googles way of letting you customize your Google homepage with things like news feeds or quick shortcuts to your email. Gadgets can do all kinds of cool things to make your life easier.
So what this gadget does is it lets you make reverse lookups direct from your homepage, which means you can tell who is calling you faster than having to follow bookmarks or deal with logins. After you install it, all searches you make will be redirected to the appropriate page on our site.
The interesting part though is if you use one of our developer api keys the search never even has to leave your homepage. You’ll get responses that look just like this telling you who owns the number.

The gadget even goes as far as showing known spam callers (like telemarketers) in red, so you know when you shouldn’t pickup the phone.
Once you’ve requested an API key, all you need to do is go into the gadget settings by clicking the little down arrow in the top right of it, and then clicking ‘Edit settings’. Once there, you’ll see a screen like below where you can enter your API key.
